Briefly, following are the requisite details /documents (scanned copies) to be submitted/ uploaded along with the application for IEC: (i) Details of the entity seeking the IEC, as per Impex Policy 2015-20 (1) PAN of the business entity in whose name Import/Export would be done (Applicant individual in case of Proprietorship firms). (2) Address Proof of the applicant entity. (3) LLPIN /CIN/ Registration Certification Number (whichever is applicable). (4) Bank account details of the entity. Cancelled Cheque bearing entity’s pre-printed name or Bank certificate in prescribed format ANF2A(I). (ii) Details of the Proprietor/ Partners/ Directors/ Secretary or Chief Executive of the Society/ Managing Trustee of the entity: (1) PAN (for all categories) (2) DIN/DPIN (in case of Company /LLP firm) Sole Proprietorship Company - This is the easiest way to start a business in India. When the business is owned and managed by a single person Sole Proprietorship Company may be formed. A business can be up and running in this format within 15 days There is no separate registration required for Sole Proprietorship firm. Tax and other mandatory registrations like VAT, Service Tax, Professional Tax, Shops & Establishments Registration, etc., will certify the existence of this firm. Only a natural person can form a One Person Company. The member should also be a resident on India. Importers of textiles There is a huge market for the Indian textiles. There is volume business from South and North America besides USA. But these are directly approached by the mills as the volume is so big. We will not be able to approach such clients who buy really in big volumes unless we ourselves have the mill and meet their requirement. This is precisely due to lead time and the price factor. But we can approach the European market whose order is quite medium and small which we can buy from the small mill or weavers and supply. There is regular orders from Spain, France, Italy, Monaco, Belgium as well as UK. The buyers ask for fabric with certain specifications such as number of reed x picks, mill made, gsm, width of the fabric, shrinkage percent, lead time, fastness, and are required in roll form. The specification and the parameters differ from buyer to buyer and from country to country - but these are the main parameters they look for. Hence when you approach the buyer, you may have the above details of the fabric in advance that you face the buyer with confidence as in an interview. The product knowledge is very important when you face the buyer and especially if you wan to be successful in getting the order.
